CFM Industries HD Engine Crossmember

Strengthen your Squarebody chassis with this heavy-duty replacement engine crossmember designed for 1973–1987 Chevy and GMC K-Series trucks and 1991 Blazers, Jimmys, and Suburbans. Built as a complete replacement for the factory crossmember and motor mount support structure, this setup provides increased strength, improved clearance, and better support for serious off-road and drivetrain builds.

Designed for everything from crossover steering conversions to LS and Duramax swaps, this crossmember offers significantly more capability than the factory setup while maintaining serviceability through a removable center section.

Features and Benefits

  • Complete heavy-duty replacement engine crossmember
  • Replaces factory crossmember and side motor mount support triangles
  • Drop-out removable center section for oil pan access
  • Optional track bar tabs for crossover steering conversions
  • Compatible with LS swap oil pans and Duramax swaps
  • Improved chassis strength over factory crossmember
  • Higher-clearance center section design
  • Reversible center section for axle or oil pan clearance tuning

Fitment

Fits 1973–1987 Chevy and GMC K-Series 4WD Squarebody trucks and 1991 Blazer, Jimmy, and Suburban models.

Available Options

  • Optional track bar tabs
  • 2WD to 4WD conversion compatibility
  • 1/2-ton, 3/4-ton, and 1-ton frame options
  • Motor mount options available

Important Fitment Notes

  • Engine must be lifted and supported during installation
  • Some drilling may be required depending on frame application
  • Minimum suspension lift required for axle clearance
  • Factory GM 10-bolt axles typically require 2.5–3 inches of lift minimum
  • Dana 60 axle swaps generally require at least 4 inches of lift
  • Center section can be rotated for additional oil pan or axle clearance depending on application

Installation

  • Bolts into most existing factory rivet holes
  • Additional drilling may be required
  • Professional installation recommended for drivetrain and suspension builds
  • Ideal for crossover steering, LS swaps, Duramax swaps, and custom suspension setups

Production

  • Made to order
  • Typical lead time: 1–2 weeks before shipping

Why This Upgrade Works

The factory Squarebody engine crossmember becomes a limitation once larger axles, crossover steering, or drivetrain swaps enter the picture. This HD replacement system improves clearance, increases chassis strength, and provides a much stronger foundation for serious off-road and custom builds.
